Strathnaver Museum is a heart which keeps the blood of tradition pumping; sustaining and preserving it for future generations.Relaunching 2023During the refurbishment the main museum building will be closed but we will be providing an information service from Bettyhill Tourist Information Centre, located beside Clachan Cafe at the roadside entrance to Strathnaver Museum. Here you will find our friendly volunteers ready to help you discover more about north Sutherland and the surrounding north Highlands.Although we will be closed we will do our best to meet any specific requests to access the collection, but please be sure to give us plenty of notice by dropping us an email. Be sure to keep an eye out for special events and pop-up exhibitions going on across north west Sutherland. Strathnaver Museum

In light of the global threat posed by COVID-19 we have taken the decision to postpone opening Strathnaver Museum and removed our online shop to protect our staff, visitors and the wider community. We rely on earning a modest income during the season to help with our running costs which aren’t covered by grant funding, such as electricity, insurance, telephone and broadband. Any reduction in our income generation capability could have a devastating impact on our ability to cover these essential costs but you can help!
