Gift cards can be redeemed at any MEC store, online, or by phone. You may need both the card number and PIN to redeem them. Select “gift card” as your payment method when you checkout online. You can combine gift card balances or use them conjunction with other payment methods to complete a purchase.
If you have an online account, you can store information for all your MEC gift cards to use the balance(s) when you checkout. Note, cashiers in stores cannot access your online account. To use a stored balance for in-store purchases, rentals or services, bring a mobile device to log in to your online account and give your gift card details to the cashier. For security reasons, gift card PINs are stored but are no longer viewable, and to complete orders by phone, you’ll need to retain your PIN separately.

Gift cards cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash, unless required by law. MEC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged cards. Redeemable for products or services available at MEC.

- E-gift cards are emailed to the recipient(s) specified, usually within about an hour (unless it’s the middle of the night, when we’re off dreaming of mountain adventures). If you select a future delivery date, expect the card to arrive on the day you specify. Your credit card will be charged on the purchase date.
- You can select up to 5 recipients per order. Each recipient will receive one e-gift card of the specified amount. To send different amounts to different people, add them to your cart one at a time.
- Recipient’s email address will not be added to any mailing lists.
- Please enter email address carefully. To confirm that your gift has arrived, contact recipients directly.
- If you are worried that delivery may be prevented by the recipient’s spam filters, you could send them a hint about expecting a nice email from MEC.
- To redeem, select gift card as a payment type during checkout, and enter both the gift card number and PIN.
- Our Service Centre staff will contact you if your gift cannot be delivered.
