Dear Caledonia Hot Yoga Family,It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the closing of Caledonia Hot Yoga. The past two years we have tried to hang on, but with the ongoing monthly expenses we are no longer able to continue. We are a small boutique studio and we do not have the option to offer larger classes safely with the current restrictions of 2 metres distance and the wearing of masks in a hot space. With this, we cannot cover the costs of a class with such small numbers. We have looked at other, larger locations as well as approached other studio owners that may have more opportunities and resources available with no success. With the recent changes and closures around the new variant, the future is unknown and we can no longer continue at a loss each month. We opened Caledonia Hot Yoga out of personal passion for the practice of yoga and the importance of self care. We were so excited to be able to bring hot yoga practice to our community. We are so grateful for the wonderful Yoga Instructors that have been part of our journey for their guidance and skilled practice that have filled our hearts, minds and bodies. We are so thankful for our community and members that have supported the studio over the years and for their patience and understanding with the time it has taken us to fully assess the situation we are in.We, along with many other fitness based businesses, were not eligible for most of the government support offered during the lockdowns. During the pandemic we have had to take out personal loans to support the monthly ongoing costs of running a business that is not even open. We know you have questions about your passes and memberships. We are figuring out how to best prioritize any refunds we can give. We will be starting with those with the largest unused memberships first and working our way down. We are so sorry, it is heartbreaking that we have nothing left after the last two years of shutdowns. We have received some kind offers to forgive remaining memberships outstanding and we are so grateful for that. We even had one amazing member who asked to have her monthly membership continue during the closure to support the ongoing costs of the studio. This kindness and understanding has blown us away and we will forever be grateful for people’s compassion for our situation. If you choose to pursue a refund, please email us by December 24th, 2021 and we will try our best to accommodate as many people as we can. We will be unable to process any refunds requested after this date. We may take some time to respond to your emails so please be patient. We would like to thank you again for your continued loyalty and business support with Caledonia Hot Yoga over the years. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
