The AlpsNo, we are not a ski lodge themed, fondue loving, snow obsessed (well maybe a little) wine bar. Allow us to explain.The great wine regions of the old world form a formidable ring around the European Alps. This is where you will find the great vineyards of Burgundy, Alto Adige, Jura, Piedmont, Savoie and the Veneto just to name a few.These regions, along with many others from all over the old and new world of wine fill our 400+ strong wine library at The Alps Wine Shop and Bar. We believe strongly in the idea that wine should represent the place from which it was grown and the four seasons that pass through that place in a given year. We showcase vignerons who grow their fruit in a thoughtful way and who guide that fruit to bottle with the gentlest hand possible.Along with the wines by the bottle to drink at our bar (or to take away), of which there is always twenty-ish available on our ever changing by the glass menu, we also serve beers by the tap and tin and both classic and interesting cocktails. Food-wise we offer a small menu of wine-centric plates. From freshly shucked oysters to the best anchovies on toast to specially curated alpine cheeses. It’s easy to find a snack or two, but also work your way through a full meal.We always try and keep space to welcome those who let impulse guide them to their next glass of wine, however, if you are someone who prefers to plan ahead and book, please do so here.
