Welcome to the Stiles & Bates websiteWe are the only dedicated woodturning suppliers in the South East offering all woodturners’ needs from our own buildings, both for beginner and veteran turners alike.Not only do we supply local woodturners and woodworkers, but through mail order and the internet, supply customers throughout the UK and beyond, many of whom have been with us since we opened in September 1996.After 25 years, we are told that we have now become ‘a destination’ shop and see visitors from all over the UK who have used our mail order services and need a winter coffee by our wood stove or a summer walk down our farm tracks or maybe just yack about woodturning, and we pride ourselves on offering knowledgable advice and help to all.Our products range includes woodturning bowl and spindle blanks (never less than 10,000 in stock but a pound to a penny not the one you want today!) woodturning lathes from Record Power and Nova, band saws, drill presses, dust extraction, air cleaners, pyrography machines, tool sharpening machines and jigs including the unrivalled Sorby ProEdge - to name just some of the machines we stock.We have woodturning chucks, lathe fittings and accessories, pen making kits and blanks and an eclectic range of project accessories from clocks to peppermill mechanisms; the list grows every year.We are main suppliers for Record Power, Nova, Crown Handtools, Robert Sorby, Glasscast, Crushgrind Mills, Milliput, Chestnut Products, Planet, Antex and Mozambique timbers from Dalmann UK.We also stock a selected range of products from Liberon, Rustins, Deluxe Materials, Kirjes, Sait, Vitex and others.They say our shop is an Aladdin’s cave but it has become more of a Tardis over the years!
