Looking for the perfect gift for someone?We offer a large range of courses throughout the year suitable for a beginner or experienced sailors and motorboat users.  SailTrain is a reputable Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and Discover Sailing (AS) training centre with highly experienced and qualified instructors.All of our SailTrain courses can be purchased as a Gift Voucher so that you can surprise someone for their birthday, Christmas or other big event.You don’t have to buy a specific course on a specific date, you can simply buy a voucher of a certain value to be used towards a course of their choice and timing.  Or if you do want to buy it for a specific course, we can do that too!  Most of the courses are held at nights or weekends.All of the courses we offer are listed here on our website.  Some of them may not currently have specific dates listed for them.  If the recipient is interested in a course that doesn’t have a date listed, they just need to contact our SailTrain Administrator who will work with them to find a suitable course date for the future.If you would like to speak with our SailTrain Administrator, Jo Breen on email sailtrain@dssinc.org.au or during office hours on 03 6223 1977.Looking for some Gift Voucher Suggestions?RYA Start Yachting CourseDo you know someone interested in learning how to sail?  SailTrain runs a two-day introduction to sailing course for complete beginners.  By the end of the course they will have gained experience in steering a yacht, sail handling, rope-work and be aware of safety on board.  Find out more about the course here.Private LessonsLooking for an extra special sailing gift?  You can gift your recipient with private sailing lessons with our highly experienced and qualified instructors.  The lessons can be conducted on their own boat or on a DSS boat.  Find out more about private lessons here.Motorboat Licence CourseDo you know someone who needs their motorboat licence?  We provide regular motorboat licence courses throughout the year including provisional licence courses for children aged between 12 to 17 years.  SailTrain runs provisional motorboat courses during each school holiday period.  Find out more here.VHF Radio Licence CourseMany don’t know that it is actually an offense to use a Marine VHF Radio without a licence to operate it.  There are severe penalties for the misuse of a Marine Radio or using it without a licence.  This includes hand-held portables.  This course requires no previous knowledge and the $190 fee includes examination.  Find out more here.
