We’ll sample three flavors of boutique “kettle style” potato chips and pair them with three different sparkling wines. This highly entertaining class will help you figure out how you can pair salty things with fancy things to delight even your most hardcore foodie friends. Registration includes 3 bags of chips and 3 splits or half bottles of bubbly.MAX STUDENTS PER SESSION: 35 (1 Seat Available)CLASS: Tempranillo from Around the WorldDATE/ TIME: Saturday, October 16th @ 6pm / Sunday, October 17th @5pmDESCRIPTION: This iconic grape has a long history in warm-weather regions. Originally from Spain it’s now popping up globally. We’ll taste through three different styles of this wonderful varietals; learning about the light, easy drinkers, through the heavy, oaked versions. Registration includes three half bottles of tempranillo. This class is interactive and discusses history and winemaking style. Novice wine drinkers welcome!MAX STUDENTS PER SESSION: 35 (1 Seat Available)CLASS: Holiday Wine Cocktail ClassDATE/ TIME: Saturday, November 6th@ 6pm / Sunday, November 7th @5pmDESCRIPTION: ‘Tis the season to up your holiday cocktail game. We’ll teach you how to make single serving or small batch wine-based cocktails. With a focus on drinks that are easy to master, have a lovely presentation, and are super delicious. We’ll have you rocking the holiday cocktail game, even if it’s just for you and your cat. Wine included with registration. Students will receive a supply list of fresh ingredients to procure for class.MAX STUDENTS PER SESSION: 35 (SOLD OUT)CLASS: What’s Happening in Southern Oregon?DATE/ TIME: Saturday, November 27th @ 6pm / Sunday, November 28th @ 5pmDESCRIPTION: Southern Oregon is home to some of the oldest wineries in the state and represents a plethora of varietals not grown up in the Willamette Valley. We’ll talk about the history, the terroir, the climate, and the ingenuity shown by the wineries and winemakers down south. Sampling three wines of the region will make the class even more delightful. They have had to overcome droughts, fires, heat, and so many obstacles that make winemaking an ever so complicated. We will see how our friends in Australia work with varietals we commonly see in America and Europe, and how they put their own spin on the flavors and styles. We’ll sample through wines that you’ve maybe heard of but don’t really understand, or have been afraid to try. While we’re trying these tasty gems, we’ll also talk about how a region with so much history has been so misunderstood.  Students will pick up their three half-bottles of wine samples at The Wine Cellar beginning two weeks before the class. Max number of students: 35Class: Pairing Wine with Local SalamiDates: Saturday, February 19th / 6-7:20pm OR Sunday, February 20th / 5-6:20pm  Cost per student payable to The Wine Cellar: $60 (includes the wine samples)Location: ZoomDescription: Food pairing isn’t easier than you might think; but it can also go terribly wrong. Join us as we do some “lips on learning” with three wines and one salami (provided). Bring your complicated recipes to the discussion and we’ll help you figure out how to pair for max success. Yet, it can be confusing to understand and sometimes hard to read the labels if you’re not used to them. Join us to learn about history, winemaking styles, food pairing traditions, all while tasting wonderful wines. Students will pick up their three half-bottles of wine samples at The Wine Cellar beginning two weeks before the class. Max number of students: 35Class: 20/20 Vision: Looking Back on the 2020 Vintage in OregonDates: Saturday, March 26th/ 6-7:20pm OR Sunday, March 27th / 5-6:20pm  Cost per student payable to The Wine Cellar: $50 (includes the wine samples)Location: ZoomDescription:  2020 represented a year of turbulence, stress, financial woes, and, of course the global pandemic. And, in Oregon, winemakers also had drought and forest fires to consider. That year tested the resolve of all of us; and required winemakers to change course just about weekly. We’ll have the chance to taste through wines of the 2020 vintage while chatting with a winemaker about what they did to survive a year unlike any other.
